nJoy Vision LASIK Journey – Dr. Sabrina Le

Dr. Sabrina Le is no stranger to the power of clear vision. The 26-year-old Moore, OK, native and recent Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry graduate spends her days peering through a slit-lamp biomicroscope to help patients see their best.

Away from the exam room, she unwinds with pastimes made infinitely better with crisp, glasses-free vision, such as knitting, crocheting, and getting lost in a good book. When the timing finally aligned at the end of her residency, Dr. Le turned to nJoy Vision, the trusted laser vision correction center for LASIK in OKC, to write the next chapter of her own vision story.

A lifelong myope (nearsighted) who first failed the school eye chart in third grade, Dr. Le had spent years tethered to thick frames, dry contact lenses, and the constant worry of keeping spares on hand. After considering LASIK for a couple of years, she decided May 2025 was her moment. From her candidacy screening to next-day follow-up, the entire process proved as seamless as it has been for her patients.

Thanks to LASIK at nJoy Vision, Dr. Le is finally reveling in naps, showers, and even long trips with her poodles, Soot and Mori, without the hassle of eyewear. Today, she’s more enthusiastic than ever about helping others discover a fresh perspective.

What is your name, and when did you have LASIK?

My name is Sabrina Le, and I had LASIK at nJoy Vision on May 21, 2025.

What is your profession, and what role does vision play in your job and/or day-to-day life?

I’m an optometrist, so I use my vision all day long to perform eye examinations with a slit lamp biomicroscope. I also like to knit, crochet, and read books, so good vision is essential!

I use my vision all day long to perform eye examinations.

How long had you considered LASIK, and why did you decide to do it now?

I’ve been considering LASIK for a couple of years, but it was just never the right time due to optometry school. Now that I’m finishing my residency, it is the perfect time.

Are you satisfied with the results of your LASIK procedure?

Yes, of course! I love being able to take naps and shower without taking out my contacts beforehand.

Now that I’m finishing my residency, it is the perfect time for LASIK.

Tell us about the first time you realized you had bad vision.

I remember telling my third-grade teacher that I couldn’t see the board… and I was in the front row! I immediately failed my vision test, and my first pair of glasses was life-changing. I never realized trees had so many leaves!

How did your vision impact your life as a child, as a teenager, and as an adult?

I felt like my life revolved around my glasses and contact lenses. I always needed to have extra contact solution and supplies with me on trips. I would even bring an extra pair of contact lenses to run errands just in case, since I couldn’t drive without them.

I felt like my life revolved around my glasses and contact lenses.

What was your least favorite thing about wearing glasses and contact lenses?

My contacts made my eyes feel dry, and my glasses were so heavy they hurt my ears and nose.

What are you most looking forward to doing or experiencing without glasses or contacts?

I’m looking forward to swimming and traveling without the hassle of contacts and eyewear.

What is the biggest difference in your life now compared to before you had LASIK?

I don’t experience as much dry eye at the end of the day as I did when I wore contact lenses.
