It’s no secret that the healthcare industry is booming,right now and for the foreseeable future. Encompassing everything from speech pathology to podiatry, healthcare offers a rare combination of job security and a wide range career options.
According to Forbes, Optometry is the No. 4 best job in all of healthcare for 2014.
Supporting (or perhaps influencing) Forbes’ ranking, CareerCast recently released their top healthcare jobs of the past year. Optometry sits at No. 4 on their list as well.
And as far as all jobs in all industries goes, Optometry is ranked No. 8 overall on CareerCast’s Best Jobs of 2013.
CareerCast has analyzed yearly survey data for the past 25 years to determine the best careers. This year, there was added context for health care: the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is expected to generate more than 5 million health care jobs by 2020, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
