Okay, okay. We couldn’t help it! With all of the craze surrounding the new game Pokemon GO, we just had to weigh in. Unless you have been in a coma, living under a rock, or wandering in the wilderness for the last week, you have undoubtedly heard about this digital phenomenon that is gaining unprecedented popularity around the worldwide.
And while we don’t want this to be a post telling you to completely avoid the game, we do want to remind you of a few ways to your eyes healthy (we mean your kids’ eyes, cough cough) as you engage in this interactive world. And rather than taking you back through ALL of the tips we’ve published in the past concerning your eyes and digital screens, we’ve decided to boil this post down to two simple tips:
- Blink more often. staring at a digital screen can affect the amount of times you blink, causing eyes to dry. Remind yourself to blink more often, which will also help to refocus your eyes.
- Take a 20-20-20 break. Even short breaks can make a huge difference. Every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break and look at something 20 feet away.
Enjoy yourself! Pokemon GO is truly a revolutionary approach to digital gaming. But remember, the real world looks pretty great too!
